Join us for the second part of the Title One meeting on September 24rd at 4pm at Union Grove Middle School.

What an exciting time of year! The MK5K-Killeen is having our 13th Annual Charity Run/Walk in October. People of all ages will come together, Saturday October 11th at Ellison High School, in support of two great initiatives: to support finding a cure for cancer and to help stop domestic violence...and WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
Volunteers play an important role in helping us to have a safe and successful race day! We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to cheer on participants, assist at check-in, hold directional signs on the route, and more. Students in middle school or younger must be accompanied with an adult. (Register both participants please.)
To show our appreciation there will be a VIP Volunteer Booth, by Ellison's auditorium, with snacks and beverages just for our volunteers. This is where you will check in/out to document accurate hours of service. We will gladly sign off on any volunteer forms that you provide on race day. Also at check-in, we will give each volunteer a free raffle ticket. Please hold on to it, because at the end of the race day, we will do raffle drawings at the VIP booth where several volunteers will WIN free prizes from businesses within our community.
Also, new this year….
NEW! Student Athlete Discount. Athletes can participate for just $20. Coaches, please email us at mk5kkilleen@gmail.com and lets us know how many discounted registrations you need, and we will reply with a discount code to use at registration. Discounted registrations are limited, so hurry!!

Being a parent is HARD WORK, especially when our kids are teens.
My name is Jennise Ventura and I am the facilitator for this program. I am also the Parent Liaison for Union Grove.
As a mom of a teen, I can relate. These weekly workshops will open your eyes, help you overcome common, perhaps tricky obstacles and help you gain control while inspiring your child(ren).
Think of it as a support group, where we offer insight from our own experiences while learning and empowering.
Refreshments will be provided and door prizes will be presented at each workshop.

Congratulations to our Outstanding Student of the Week, Chariti Fant!
Chariti is in a Prealgebra class. She works well with her peers as they problem solve their work. She is a helper and a hard worker. Recently, she noticed that I was having a bad day. After greeting them at the door, she approached me and told me that she hoped that my day would get better! As she leaves class everyday, she makes sure she tells me to have a good day! Chariti always has a kind word for everyone.
